War in Middle East continues to offer nothing but blood, toil, tears and sweat

Israel has no other alternative but to continue the war until the surrender or total and definitive destruction of Hamas and all its troops.

In the last two weeks, several dozen women and children who were unjustly kidnapped, beaten or raped by Hamas monsters have been rescued. No-one, however, will be able to bring back to life the almost 2,000 civilians, the elderly, women and children who were mutilated, raped and savagely murdered during the attack on October 7 in Israel.

It must be remarked that these actions were not a consequence of the attack on military forces, but were actions specifically designed and ordered for this purpose (to produce the greatest damage and sow the greatest terror to the civilian population).

This attack by Hamas (which was filmed by their militants), along with the more than 10,000 missiles fired at Israel in a single week, constitute a complete declaration of war, which is consistent with their proclaimed ideals of mass destruction of a state and its citizens:

Hamas’ charter states that "our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious" and calls for the eventual creation of an Islamic state in Palestine, in place of Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and the obliteration or dissolution of Israel. It emphasises the importance of jihad, stating in article 13: "There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavours.”

Faced with this, the statements by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres have no basis or legal justification – Hamas has completed in a single action several of the most important articles of the specifically stipulated War Crimes.

For example: The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, Article 8, defines war crimes as: a) VIII Taking of hostages; b) i - Intentionally directing attacks against the civilian population as such or against individual civilians not taking direct part in hostilities; ii - Intentionally directing attacks against civilian objects, that is, objects which are not military objectives; xi - Killing or wounding treacherously individuals belonging to the hostile nation or army; xvi - Oillaging a town or place, even when taken by assault; xii - Committing rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, as defined in article 7, paragraph 2 (f), enforced sterilisation, or any other form of sexual violence also constituting a grave breach of the Geneva Conventions; xxiii - utilising the presence of a civilian or other protected person to render certain points, areas or military forces immune from military operations.”

Although we do not believe that they can be detained and judged by all of the former, we must consider the implications of Article XXIII: the use of hospitals as war barracks, weapons depots and even the confinement and murder of a kidnapped woman has been demonstrated and documented; Hamas troops have shot Palestinian civilians who were trying to leave the northern area in accordance with Israel's prior warning that it would proceed to bomb it; In a video, a Palestinian woman was almost hanged for blaming Hamas for all her suffering.

By virtue of all these elements, Israel has no other alternative but to continue the war until the surrender or total and definitive destruction of Hamas and all its troops (which asked for and executed the killings of Arab, Jew or Druze Israeli citizens).

Therefore, there is no doubt that the war will continue and will claim thousands of lives on both sides, since – based on their very distorted interpretation of Jihad – extremists like Hamas will not raise a white flag as they long to meet the 72 virgins in the afterlife.  As they themselves say there is no sense: “Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavours.”

For this reason and because they are not very willing to collaborate with the destruction of these murderous extremists; it would be important for many countries to stop being hypocritical about Israel: would they have required English or US bombers to notify where they would attack the Nazis or Japanese? Well, Israel has done so, in addition to trying to injure as little as possible innocent civilians.

The next future … there is no other but blood, toil, tears and sweat. The central question is however, what should come after that: in our desire, finally a responsible Palestinian State with the capacity to work together with Israel (as Arafat and Rabin agreed so) for the well-being of their people and the entire region... Insha'Allah, we continue to hope so.
