After a great weekend of intensity and intrigue, with all eyes on the Superliga title battle between Boca Juniors and River Plate, Argentina's top clubs are switching their attention to the upcoming rounds of Copa Libertadores.
The match between Grémio and Internacional is the star highlight of the week. This latest edition of 'Grenal' – one of the biggest rivalries in Brazil, between two teams that share five Libertadores titles of the Libertadores – takes place on Thursday at the Arena do Grémio stadium, in Group E.
Both teams will be looking for a victory as they approach the match in fine form: Grémio recently beat América de Cali 2-0, while 2 – 0 for Gremio) while Internacional beath Universidad Católica de Chile 3-0 in their latest continental outing.
For River, after the enormous disappointment suffered on Saturday, when River lost the Superliga title on the final weekend to arch-rivals Boca Juniors, there;s no time for mourning or regret. On Wednesday they have to focus on the Libertadores and beat Peruvian sice Binacional to stay in the race in Group D.
Boca Juniors, on the other hand, fresh with their 34th national title in their back pocket, play against Deportivo Independiente Medellín at La Bombonera on Tuesday night.
