Argentina to take over G20 presidency

The Macri government strides into the G20 presidency on the back of key legislative wins in the Senate. The president is expected to outline his plans for the G20 today.

President Mauricio Macri and his cabinet joined governors, Supreme Court judges, lawmakers and ambassadors this morning at the Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK) for the launch ceremony of Argentina’s presidency of the G20. The official hand-over will take place tomorrow.

In the wake of his tax and pension reform wins in the Senate, President Macri is expected to outline his country’s key concerns and focuses for the year-long presidency which will conclude in an annual summit of world leaders.

Argentina receives the presidency from German.
