UAE marks national day with diplomatic celebration in Buenos Aires
United Arab Emirates hosts celebration to mark its National Day, celebrating the December 1971 declaration that created the federation of emirates.
The United Arab Emirates celebrated its National Day last week with a reception at its envoy’s residence in Buenos Aires, hosted by Ambassador Saeed Abdulla Saif Joula Alqemzi.
The event celebrating the unification of the United Arab Emirates drew senior government officials, including Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno and Tourism Secretary Daniel Scioli, along with diplomats from across the region and figures from the business world and wider community.
“The distinguished relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Argentina, officially established in February 1974, are based on a solid friendship founded on mutual respect and shared interests. Over these 51 years, they have been strengthened by key legal frameworks that promote trade and investment," said the ambassador in his speech.
Guests toured a photographic exhibition dedicated to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, highlighting its architecture through striking plays of light and shadow. The display reinforced the UAE’s message of peace, cultural coexistence and respect for heritage.
