President Fernández undergoes medical tests after discomfort at G20

President Alberto Fernández underwent an endoscopy on Saturday in Buenos Aires, following the bout of erosive gastritis he suffered this week during the G20 summit in Bali.

Fernández "has undergone endoscopic tests today, and no lesions with active bleeding were found," the Presidential Medical Unit said in a statement.

"He is indicated to rest and to gradually resume his work activities," added the text signed by Doctor Federico Saavedra, who said the head of state had been treated at the Sanitorio Otamendi in Buenos Aires/

The president had suffered from gastritis on Tuesday, forcing him to be absent during part of the G20 Leaders' Summit he was attending in Bali. 

The president suffered an episode of hypotension and dizziness which, after being evaluated by the medical team, was diagnosed as "erosive gastritis with signs of bleeding."

After recovering, Fernández met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva before returning to Argentina via a stopover in Madrid.
