Who's who of Detained: Nine arrested for triple narco murder in Florencio Varela
Following the capture of “Pequeño J” and his right-hand man, there are already nine individuals in custody; A look at the alleged roles attributed to each of them in the brutal triple murder.
The investigation into the brutal triple murder of Morena Verdi, Brenda Del Castillo and Lara Gutiérrez in Florencio Varela last week has taken a decisive turn with the arrest in Peru of alleged mastermind Tony Janzen Valverde Victoriano, alias “Pequeño J,” and his alleged right-hand man Matías Agustín Ozorio.
There are now nine individuals in police custody, each of them accused of playing a specific role in the planning and execution of the bloodbath in Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires Province.
A look at who’s who in a crime that has shocked the nation.
Alleged mastermind and aide (captured in Peru)
1. Tony Janzen Valverde Victoriano, aka “Pequeño J”
Singled out as the mastermind of the massacre. A 20-year-old Peruvian drug dealer with a family history linked to organised crime in his country. He was arrested on Tuesday in Pucusana, some 70 kilometres from Lima following a joint operation involving the Buenos Aires Province Police and the National Peruvian Police. Now in Lima, his extradition is being sought.
2. Matías Agustín Ozorio
Considered to be the “right hand” of “Pequeño J.” He was arrested hours earlier, before his boss, in Lima. He will also be extradited to Argentina, his nation of birth.

3. Magalí Celeste González Guerrero
Tenant in charge of the Florencio Varela property where the bodies of all three young women were found. She has reportedly refused to testify and has been indicted for, among other crimes, first degree murder. She is currently detained at Melchor Romero prison.
4. Miguel Villanueva Silva
Guerrero’s partner and fellow tenant of the house of horrors. Like his partner, he has refused to testify and faces the same indictment. He is also at Melchor Romero.
5. Daniela Ibarra
She was found by the police at the crime scene, attempting to clean and wash off blood stains. She refused to testify and shares the same indictment.
6. Maximiliano Parra
Arrested with Ibarra while cleaning. Same indictment and place of arrest as the three above.
Cover-up
7. Lázaro Víctor Sotacuro
Suspected of driving the white Volkswagen van which supported a Chevrolet Tracker, the car in which the victims were driven to their death. Sotacuro was arrested last Friday at a hostel in Villazón, Bolivia, after using an illegal border crossing.
8. Ariel Giménez
Accused of one of the most macabre tasks: digging the hole where the young women’s bodies were buried. He was arrested last Saturday during a series of raids in Florencio Varela.
9. Florencia Ibáñez
Lázaro Sotacuro’s niece. She is believed to have been travelling in the support car with her uncle the night of the murders. She was arrested on Monday by the Buenos Aires City and Buenos Aires Province Police Forces while leaving the A24 studios in Palermo, where she had gone to give an interview.
