Adrián Ravier named Milei’s new presidential spokesperson
Forty-eight year-old accountant and economist and close presidential ally named to one of the most high-profile positions within Javier Milei’s government.
Adrián Ravier has been appointed Argentina's new presidential spokesperson and will work at the Casa Rosada alongside President Javier Milei.
The announcement was made by Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni on the X social network following a meeting with the President at the presidential residence in Olivos.
"All the best in this new chapter, dear Adrián. A great challenge lies ahead: you will be the voice of the person who is making Argentina great again," Adorni wrote.
Presidential adviser Santiago Caputo also welcomed the appointment in a social media post, saying: "Congratulations Adrián Ravier. May the forces of heaven be with you."
Ravier's arrival comes as the government seeks to reshape its communications team amid a judicial investigation into allegations of illicit enrichment involving Adorni.
The 48-year-old economist, an accountant by trade, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and has an extensive academic career. He has taught at several institutions including UBA, ESEADE, UCES, the University of Salvador and the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA).
He currently teaches macroeconomics and foundations of economics at two universities.
Ravier was elected to the lower house Chamber of Deputies in 2025 after leading an electoral alliance between La Libertad Avanza and PRO in La Pampa Province, where he also serves as president of the ruling party's local branch.
The economist has long enjoyed a close relationship with President Milei. The two have appeared together at academic and publishing events and even collaborated on a book, La batalla por la macroeconomía: el debate abierto entre Keynes, Friedman, Lucas y Hayek (“The Battle for Macroeconomics: The Open Debate Between Keynes, Friedman, Lucas and Hayek”).
