City Hall loosens Covid-19 restrictions – the measures

Buenos Aires City Mayor Horacio Rodríguez Larreta announced a loosening of some Covid-19 restrictions on Thursday, allowing more outdoor activities and the restart of "full-time" in-person secondary school classes.

At a press conference, the Juntos por el Cambio leader relaxed measures for gastronomic establishments, as well as authorising a host of sporting and cultural activities. 
 

New measures for CABA:

– Education: As of July 5, all secondary/high school students return to full in-person classes.

– Sports: Allowed outdoors and without limits on number of people.

– Bars and restaurants. Shops will be able to serve their customers inside the premises, with a maximum capacity of 30 percent occupancy.

– Party and event rooms. Subject to a permit, enabled to functions of gastronomic purposes, with a maximum capacity of 30 percent.

– Theatres. Expanded to a maximum capacity to 50%, with specific protocols in place.

– Gymnasiums. Customers allowed to work-out inside premises, to a maximum capacity of 30 percent.

– Meetings and conferences. As of July 12, select events (congresses, conferences and exhibitions) will be enabled. To a maximum capacity of between 20 percent and 30 percent, depending on the size of the room, with "strict" protocols.

Unchanged measures:

– Circulation of citizens is prohibited between midnight and 6am in the morning, with exceptions for essential workers.

– Meetings in private homes and social encounters in homes are prohibited.

 – Professional activities: still remote/home office where possible.

– Social gatherings: Only allowed in open spaces, with a maximum of 10 people.
