More Argentina News

The public relations policy of the streaming giant otherwise known as Netflix is to produce content under strict confidentiality agreements. For that same reason, Netflix alone decides when and how information is revealed about any new content it is producing.

Such was the case with Edha, directed by Argentine Daniel Burman and staring Juana Viale and Pablo Echarri, which will premiere on March 16 in Argentina.

Now, Netflix has begun producing a miniseries about late prosecutor Alberto Nisman, just two months after the news website Exitoina revealed news about its commission as a series.

According to the same portal, the associate producer of the series is the Catalonian company JWP, well known in the festival circuit for its awardwinning documentaries, for its strategic partnerships with the BBC, Catalunya Television (which produced the hit series Merlí) and The Danish Film Insitute, among others.

The idea is for between four and six episodes to be directed by Englishman Justin Webster, alongside contracted producers and editors (mostly Catalonian), among them Martín Rocca, a Spaniard who lived many years in Argentina.

INTERVIEWS

The production is moving step by step to compile a series of carefully conducted interviews. They have already interviewed Nisman’s daughters Kala and Iara, and other relatives of the former prosecutor. They are also believed to be pushing for interviews with former president and now senator Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, and Diego Lagomarsino (who has been charged in the case).

They are also seeking interviews with the people who were at the scene where Nisman’s dead body was found on January 18, 2015. These include former national Security secretary Sergio Berni, prosecutor Viviana Fein and the security guards who had been assigned the protection of Alberto Nisman.

The plan is to finish filming the series in three months. However, the amount of episodes will depend on which interviews they are able to secure.

A voiceover will narrate the series, placing the viewer amid the back and forths of this sofar unsolved case.
